Our client, a multi-line managed care enterprise, is currently seeking a **Travel & Events Coordinator** position for a **6+ month contract/temp-to-hire** position. **This position is located in Clayton, MO.**

**Work schedule:** M-F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm





**Pay range** - $25.00 - $27.00/hour





**JOB DESCRIPTION:**





**Summary:**





**Position Purpose:**



The Travel Coordinator is responsible for coordinating travel arrangements involving hotels, airlines, car reservations for executives. Provides optimal customer service to executives and/or their executive assistants. Provides guidance and assistance on complex and/or large travel requests. Independent discretion must be used when making travel arrangements to ensure effective and efficient decisions are made.





**Position Responsibilities:**




+ Provide support for travel and events services across for executive level staff with maximize efficiency.

+ Organize and manage all details for company events such as catering, transportation, location, invitation list, equipment and promotional materials,

+ Provide support in the form of travel arrangements to executive level staff.

+ Ensure executives reach travel destinations on time and with the right accommodations.

+ Responsible for making all air, hotel and vehicle travel reservations for executives with noted supervisory exceptions.

+ Provide optimal customer service to travelers during hours of operations and after hours as needed.

+ Initiate/participate in the negotiation and structuring of corporate rates/fare reductions with vendors.

+ Develop, document, and implement necessary policies and procedures to minimize travel expense.

+ Communicate necessary changes or modifications to procedures to the appropriate parties.

+ May have to be on-call to take care of any last-minute changes or issues that come up, which typically means working some evenings, weekends and holidays.



**Education/Experience:**




+ BA in Hospitality preferred, or High School Diploma with a minimum of (5)+ years of experience in a travel coordinator role supporting executives, and event management.



**Soft Skills:**




+ Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

+ Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

+ Excellent critical thinking abilities

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Exceptional customer service skills with all levels of corporate personnel and external clients.

+ Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook is a must, especially Excel as we utilize this frequently.



**Day to day-**



Invoicing, email inquiries, preparing for events. Must have experience in corporate Travel industry with meetings and events.
