My name is George Rogers and I am a Recruiter with Kelly Services, Inc., a Fortune 500 workforce solutions company. We are currently seeking to fill a **Vendor Contracting Manager** position in **Cary, NC (currently remote).** I have attached the details of the opportunity below.

**This role is currently remote, but needs all candidates to be within 2 hours of the clients office in Cary, NC**


**Duration: 6 months contract, with potential for extension**

**Pay: $40.00/HOUR - $44.00/HOUR**

**Please note: The Hiring Manager is looking for candidates who are very self-motivated and able to work independently to problem-solve. There are more extensive details about the soft skills needed below.** **The client is not necessarily requiring experience in this type of role. It is more important to have an entrepreneurial mindset, consultative experience and business acumen than anything else.**

+ Responsible for drafting the base contract with external vendors.

+ Acts as single point of accountability for internal and external business partners.

+ Defines and oversees the execution of complex vendor management and implementation strategy for a defined set of vendors.

+ Proactively develops effective business relationships with vendors, stakeholders, and key decision makers in order to meet or exceed expectations.

+ Responsible for the development and ongoing management of one or more implementation programs that are multi-state, multi-function and multi-year in scope.

+ Directs the development, planning, prioritization, approval, implementation and compliance of on-going vendor programs.

+ Establishes program governance when needed to assure response to issue escalation; develops program budget and ensures program meets its stated objectives.

+ Provides subject matter expertise in response to strategic business issues; researches applicable subject matter practices; and remains aware of industry trends.

+ Drives continuous improvement activities and implementations across functional areas.

+ Recommends and implements vendor parameters regarding vendor production and quality in support of business objectives,

+ Requires a BA/BS degree in business or a related field; MBA is preferred

+ 5-7 years of process improvement, inventory management, contract management, vendor management, project management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Ability to travel required.

+ Must **THRIVE** on constantly facing NEW business information and data being thrown at you. You are going to be part of a fast-moving, highly dynamic team ability to pivot quickly, pick up and **process** **new information** fast will be critical for your success here.

+ Ability to identify and **extract key pieces** of data from large amounts of business information quickly and **package it** into market ready information will be critical.

**MUST HAVE a high level** of **business acumen** and have a well-developed instinct and gut feel for business. Business language and dialogue conversations about ROI, growth and decline rates, outcomes, utilization rates, economies of scale, etc. - **must be of second-nature** to you. Must be comfortable and at-ease with having these business discussions with _high-level_ _business executives_ and _middle-management_ alike.

Comfort around **technology concepts** also a BIG PLUS i.e. topics like systems, data and information flow, artificial intelligence, sourcing of IT assets/resources. etc.

Comfort around **business operations** topics efficiency, resource productivity, cost effectiveness, and outsourcing a BIG PLUS if not a Must.

Looking for **substance OVER style** . An engaging style is important, but not at the expense of **substance, insight and depth of experience** .

**Business and Technical Skills needed** :

MBA a Big Plus

OUTSTANDING WRITING SKILLS the ability to use the power of the written word to advance business forward is Critical

Strong VERBAL presentation skills In-Person or over a virtual medium (like WebEx, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.) are a MUST

Likeability and a giving demeanor in person

High-Level of Proficiency in all **business software** presentation software (PowerPoint, etc.), Excel, Word, etc.

Comfort in all **Presentation mediums** Conference Calls or on Video

Strong communication skills via **TEXTING** via MS Office Skype, Microsoft Teams, mobile-to-mobile, etc.

Advanced **LinkedIn Skills** will be needed as well as complete comfort in navigating the LinkedIn environment
