JOB SUMMARY: The VP Business Development Europe works in Europe reporting to the head of Europe and in close alignment with the CSO Business Development department at WCG corporate headquarter. This position represents WCGs CSO divisions with the goal of establishing WCGs sales presence in Europe, maximizing sales and positioning WCG Clinical Service Organizations offerings as the leading solutions in the industry. The VP Business Development Europe must assume responsibility for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies aimed at effectively selling and promoting the WCG portfolio of services with a clear focus on the CSO divisions. Externally, this position maintains relationships with medical and clinical operations decision-makers at pharmaceutical, biopharma, biotech and medical device companies.


  • Bachelors degree or higher is required, with industry related degree preferred.


  • A minimum of 7-10 years experience managing business development and selling solutions (products and/or services) in Europe and preferably in the pharmaceutical, life sciences industry.
  • Possesses a hunter" mentality and can grow business from net new sales.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving personal sales goals.
  • Experience working in a matrixed team selling environment preferably with the US and with subject matter experts.
  • Executive level client penetration and development experience is essential.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic, negotiation and communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions for a changing environment.
  • Has the potential to lead the European Business Development team based on first managerial experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Successfully prospect, and sell solutions and services via a consultative selling approach within assigned global bio pharm/CRO clients in Europe
  • Coordinate with leaders and SMEs across the organization to create compelling and goal-driven solutions for clients and prospects, and ensure tactical and strategic company goals are achieved.
  • Develop account strategies for assigned accounts, and prepare client presentations to the standards of the company.
  • Manage client meeting schedules to achieve target performance.
  • Expected client engagement is face-to-face with expectations of travel.
  • Analyze our competitors strengths and weaknesses.
  • Work within a vigorous metrics-driven environment.
  • Utilize to monitor, analyze, and communicate sales data to the management team.
  • Coordinate with the legal team in managing contract negotiations.
  • Provide market feedback to internal teams regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
