Finishing, Packaging and Shipping
Shift Hours: 6:00am-6:30pm
Wed/Thu/Fri and Thu/Fri/Sat (alternating weeks)
PAY RATE: 15.00 - 17 PER HOUR D.O.E.
SUMMARY
Primary and assistant in product assembly & packaging efforts to attain shipping objectives.
RESONSIBILITIES
Prepares product for packaging and delivery (i.e.: packaging, carton labeling, etc.)
Performs manual assembly and packaging of products according to shipping schedule and business needs. Inspects material and ensures conformity to workmanship standards, and reports defective materials following standard operating procedures.
Operates equipment that assists with speed and accuracy of manual manufacturing steps.
Cleans tools and equipment per procedures.
To insure the quality of certain products, the employee will be required to assemble and/or package product in the chilled enclosure where temperatures may range between 0 and 8 degrees Celsius
Maintains good communication and working relationships with all departments and effectively functions within a team environment.
Maintains work area in high state of cleanliness and organizes segregation.
Effectively plans and utilizes time and resources to meet business needs and achieve business objectives.
Maintains work area organization and documentation to satisfy ISO and GMP standards.
Works in other Departments when necessary to ensure customer requirements for shipments are achieved.
Maintains and adheres to all company safety policies and procedures.
Exhibits professional etiquette that exemplifies the values of the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance work instructions, quality control grids, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form. Must have sufficient English reading, writing and speaking skills to communicate effectively throughout the organization.
Must have High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years of shipping experience. Forklift experience preferred.
Computer Skills Must be familiar with and be able to communicate via e-mail. Must be familiar with and be able to use computer software including word processing & spreadsheets (Microsoft products preferred), and ERP System. Spreadsheet skills must include ability to manipulate data.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role is physically demanding as assembly and packaging can occur in a cold working environment. Employee will be required to work in 0 to 8 Celsius temperature enclosures. This role also may work in cold areas with temperatures reaching -30 Celsius for limited periods of time.
