Major Responsibilities

Pick product for shipping according to the schedule in a safe, timely accurate manner

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Follow and support all Company safety, GMP and HACCP policies

Pick product according to the pick list and DC link

Meet minimum productivity standard of 13 moves per hour

Fill in when needed on dock and in putaway

Assist with Inventory

Put stock transfers away

Consolidate product in designated bins

Label orders

Housekeeping

Repack and scrap items

Observe safety rules in the warehouse and plant

Conduct safety inspections on material handling equipment

Complete change sheets

Qualification Requirements

Education and/Or Experience

Education: High School diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: 1 year working in a warehouse; 1 year operating a fork truck or reach truck

Minimum education and years of experience should not be used exclusive of other leveling factors described below.

Other Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of and skill in driving reach trucks and forklifts

Knowledge of and skill in operating a computer

Ability to stack pallets for the dock

Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and order forms or checklists. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

Mathematical skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10-s and 100-s by 2, 3, 4 and 5. Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations with coins as part of a dollar, and/or with units of measurements such as inches, feet, yards, weights and volumes.

Reasoning skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in or from standardized situations.

Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to make practical decisions without appreciable direction or advance preparation

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work around moving machinery or electricity requiring a high level of safety awareness. Employee is required be able to wear appropriate PPE. Employee may be required to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted while performing job duties; push or pull up to 100 pounds. Employee may reach, climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend or twist up to 33% of the work shift.
